This game was originally supposed to be a FREE mod pack for The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas but JoWood, in it’s desperate grab for more dough, decided to give the modders a cash incentive and so it became an official standalone expansion for the game. I just bought The Guild 2 Renaissance and I was asking myself which mods and patches should I apply to my game, since people talks about it on the release thread but haven't seen anything expecific that could guide me.
